GummySearch Is Shutting Down: Where to Go

·FounderDive
GummySearch stopped new sign-ups on 30 Nov 2025. Lifetime-deal access ends on 30 Nov 2026, and all data is deleted on 1 Dec 2026. Export your audiences, searches and notes now. Then choose by job: a research or alert tool if you used it for research, a reply tool such as FounderDive if you used it to find people to answer.

The dates, from GummySearch's own pages

  • 6 Nov 2025: the founder announces the closure in The Final Chapter for GummySearch.
  • 30 Nov 2025: new sign-ups, sales and renewals end. The homepage says it is closed, and the closing notice explains what still works.
  • Until your billing period ends: existing paid subscribers keep full access, with no new payments, per its help article on the closure.
  • 30 Nov 2026: lifetime-deal access ends. Annual plans also run out in late 2026.
  • 1 Dec 2026: full shutdown. All user data is deleted.

Free accounts can already do only three things: log in, export their data, or delete the account. A day pass you already bought still gives one day of Pro access.

Why it closed

In its own words, it could not reach a commercial licence agreement under Reddit's Data API policies, and its closing notice says those policies forbid commercial apps. It also says the free tier was paid for by subscriptions, so without new revenue it could not keep running.

It was not a product nobody wanted. Its own notice says over 135,000 founders, marketers and investors used it, over about four years, built by one person.

What to export before it goes

Log in and download anything you can't rebuild. We couldn't find a step-by-step export guide on GummySearch's site, and no other tool imports its data, so keep it as files you control.

  • Your audiences, and the list of subreddits in each one
  • Your saved searches and tracked keywords
  • Posts, comments and notes you saved
  • The phrases your customers used. These become your search terms anywhere else

Do it this week, not on the last day. Access ends on 30 Nov 2026 and the data is gone on 1 Dec 2026.

What to look for in a replacement

Start with what you actually used it for. GummySearch did several jobs, and no single tool does all of them now.

  • If you used it for research, meaning finding where your customers gather and reading what they complain about, a monitor or alert tool is the closer match. Syften watches many sites with fast alerts. F5Bot sends free keyword alerts for Reddit and Hacker News. Octolens and Brand24 do brand monitoring for teams.
  • If you used it to find people to answer, you want a tool that finds posts asking for what you sell and helps you write the reply.

Whatever you pick, check four things:

  • Is it still taking new customers, and how long has it been running?
  • Where does it look besides Reddit? Any tool that reads Reddit lives under Reddit's rules.
  • Does it post for you? A tool that posts from accounts that aren't yours puts the trust, and the risk, somewhere you don't control.
  • Is the price on the tool's site, with a date? Comparison pages often quote rivals' prices that are out of date.

Where FounderDive fits, honestly

FounderDive is not an audience research tool. It has no group insights or pain-point reports, and no keyword or brand alerts. If that is what you need, use Syften or F5Bot.

It does the second job. It finds posts in nine places where someone is asking for what you built, and scores each out of 100. Under 72? Gone. It writes the reply only from facts you gave it, and a draft that can't cite one is thrown away. It checks every reply eight ways, including each group's rules, 9 helpful replies for every 1 that mentions you, and a shadowban check. It never posts. You press send from your own account.

It is a young product, and almost all of the posts it keeps come from Reddit.

A short migration checklist

  • Export everything from GummySearch before 30 Nov 2026.
  • Write down the subreddits in each audience. These are the groups you will keep an eye on.
  • Write the facts about your product: what it does, who it is for, what it costs. A reply can only say what these say.
  • Run one free hunt on your site and read what comes back.
  • Add the groups that matter to you, answer one post, and press send yourself.
