FounderDive vs Octolens: Monitoring or Replies?
Octolens monitors your brand and keywords across many sites, with alerts and an API. FounderDive finds people asking for what you built and writes replies.
We make FounderDive, so read this as our view. Facts about Octolens were checked on 31 Oct 2026 against their own pricing page. Prices change; check theirs before you decide.

Octolens watches far more than we do. Its Pro plan covers Reddit, X, LinkedIn, YouTube, TikTok, Bluesky, DEV, Hacker News, GitHub, Stack Overflow and review sites; Scale adds podcasts, newsletters, news and the web. You get alerts, an API and an MCP server. For a team that needs to see every mention of its brand, that range is the point, and the 7-day no-card trial is a fair test.
Monitoring answers "where are we mentioned?". FounderDive answers a narrower question: who is asking for what you built right now, and what should you say to them? It looks in nine places, scores each post out of 100, keeps 72 or more, and writes the reply only from facts you gave it. A draft that can't cite one is thrown away.
FounderDive then checks every reply eight ways, including group rules, 9 helpful replies per 1 that mentions you, two weeks off per group and a shadowban check. It never posts. It doesn't cover LinkedIn, YouTube or TikTok, has no brand alerts or API, and sees X only through Google's index.

Verdict
Octolens is broad brand monitoring: Reddit, X, LinkedIn, YouTube, TikTok, Bluesky, DEV, Hacker News, GitHub, Stack Overflow and review sites, with alerts, an API and an MCP server. It is built for teams that track every mention of a brand, and priced for them. FounderDive is narrower and cheaper: it finds posts asking for what you built, writes the reply from your facts, and you press send.
